Delivery & returns

Every book is packed by hand and sent with tracking. Delivery within South Africa is free.

When books are sent

Orders placed before the launch are pre-orders. They are sent after the launch on 13 October 2026, in the order in which they were paid. After the launch, books are sent within 3–5 working days of payment. You receive a tracking number by email as soon as your parcel leaves us.

South Africa

Free door-to-door courier delivery to any street address in South Africa, usually 2–4 working days after dispatch. The courier may phone you on the number you gave, so please make sure it is correct.

Collecting at a launch

You can choose to collect your order at a launch event, free of charge. The next collection point is the Cape Town launch on 19 November 2026 at the Norval Foundation, 4 Steenberg Road, Tokai, Cape Town. Please bring your order reference. Orders not collected at the launch are couriered to you afterwards, at no extra cost within South Africa, once we have your delivery address.

International delivery

We deliver to the United Kingdom and the United States directly from the order page, by tracked DHL Express courier. The delivery cost is shown before you pay:

Any other country: choose “Another country” on the order page, or email info@antonvanwouw.com, and we will arrange delivery and payment with you directly.

Import duties and taxes charged by your country are not included and are payable by you when the parcel arrives. Prices are in South African rand; your bank converts the amount at its own rate.

Cancelling a pre-order

You may cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before your book is sent. Email info@antonvanwouw.com with your order reference.

Changing your mind after delivery (cooling-off)

Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may cancel your purchase without giving a reason within 7 days after you receive the book. Let us know by email, then return the book unused, in its original condition and packaging. You pay only the direct cost of returning it. We refund the full purchase price within 30 days of your cancellation.

This does not apply to copies that were personally inscribed or dedicated at your request, because they are made to your specification.

Damaged or faulty books

If your book arrives damaged, or has a printing or binding fault, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order reference and a photo of the damage and packaging. We will replace the book or refund you in full, and we cover the return costs. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including the right to return defective goods within six months, are not affected.

Leather collector's edition

Numbers are allocated in the order in which payments are received. If you ask for a preferred number, we reserve it if it is still available; otherwise you receive the next number in sequence. If a leather copy is returned or cancelled, its number may be offered to another collector.

Refunds

Refunds are paid back to the card or account you paid with, through Paystack. Depending on your bank, it can take 5–10 working days to show.
